Most vehicle's oil pressure will drop at idle. The reason is the engine (and hence, the oil pump driven off the engine) is running at a lower RPM. As RPM's increase, so does the oil pump's, increasing pressure. When the engine (and it's oil) is cold, the oil is "thicker" (best way I can think to describe it in lay men's terms).

Hi there folks, not sure this is even a problem but I can't say that I've noticed it so dramatically as with my 05' Frontier v6 4.0. When the engine starts the oil pressure gauage is right around the middle of the range, after it warms up the pressure drops way down at idle and then shoots back up with more rpms.

This is normal only when the vehicle is idling. My oil pressure bell/lamp is going off at idle when the weather is hot, it’s been up to 113 here recently, and 100 consistently.
